Last week, for National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21), 180 Smoke committed to donating $1 for every purchase through 180 Smoke or our sister store, offside cannabis, either online or in-store on that day, to Water First, furthering the charity’s efforts towards addressing water challenges in Indigenous communities across Canada.
The response from our vaping community was strong, and we’re happy to report almost 2,000 transactions went through on NIPD, resulting in over $2,000 in donations supporting a solution that helps Indigenous communities and their efforts to address water challenges across Canada.
Drinking water challenges are complex: in some communities, local concerns may be around infrastructure, for others, source water contamination. And numerous communities have challenges recruiting and training young Indigenous adults to join the drinking water field. The money raised goes towards fixing that.
If you weren’t able to participate in 180 Smoke’s NIPD Water First campaign, you can still help out and get involved by donating directly here, as well as learning more about the water challenges facing Indigenous communities in Canada.
