Let’s start by comparing each pod system’s main features and specifications, noting we are always referencing the CRC versions of the devices and accessories which may vary slightly from the standard versions featured on the Uwell website, including built in coils and modified fill ports:
Caliburn X
Caliburn X Pod System (CRC) is exclusively compatible with Caliburn X replacement pods.
Caliburn X features:
- The pod system is made of aluminium alloy (PCTG, a highly chemically resistant and durable material – co-polyester – and AL 6063, a medium-strength architectural alloy). This material is responsible for the device’s great look and smooth, comfortable grip.
- Large display (OLED screen) that shows battery life, voltage, output power, puffs, and coil resistance. A first for the series.
- Multi-control button that can turn the device on/off, lock/unlock it, adjust wattage between 5 – 20W (another first for the series) and perform other controls like puff clearing and ignition. Press the button to start/stop vaping or puff to automatically activate the pod system. All of these features allow you to have total control over your vaping experience.
- E-liquid check transparent window that helps you monitor e-liquid levels at all times.
- Side airflow control valve that allows vapers to conveniently adjust airflow without removing the pod. Yet another first in the popular series.
- It comes in six unique colours: Moonlight Silver, Matte Black, Lake Green, Lilac Purple, Ink Blue, and Ribbon Red.
- Each device includes two pods with built-in FeCrAl-UN2 Meshed-H coils – one 0.8Ω (13 – 18W) and one 1.2Ω (10 – 15W). Another version with a 1.0Ω coil is sold separately.
- Each pod has a spring loaded top fill port to prevent leaks, under a removable mouthpiece – which is common in the design of all models for CRC regulations.
- It has a larger battery and e-liquid capacity when compared to the G2, A2, and A2S. The Caliburn X has an 850mAH battery and 3ml e-liquid capacity, which could be enough for vaping for approximately a day or more without refilling or charging.
- The pod system is sizable at 46g in weight and 107.4mm by 27.5mm by 15.6mm in dimensions.
- Adjustable output (5W-20W) and flavour adjustment Pro-FOCS technology that offers authentic flavour.
- Sold with two pods, and a USB C charging cable.
- Exclusively compatible with Caliburn X pods, and no other type in the series.
Caliburn G2
Caliburn G2 features:
- It is made using a similar material (PA, Aluminium Alloy).
- It has a transparent e-liquid check window to ensure you know the e-liquid level at all times.
- The 750mAh battery and 1.6mL e-liquid capacity are both lower compared to the Caliburn X, but the device is also lighter and more compact, weighing only 36g and measuring 110.5mm x 22.5mm x 13mm.
- Caliburn G2 pods (CRC version) have an e-liquid capacity of 1.6ml instead of the standard 2ml since they have a spring-loaded fill port lock.
- It has an LED indicator light instead of a screen.
- The Caliburn G2 has a unique vibration interaction feature: the device vibrates in different patterns to give feedback when it has low voltage, suffers a short circuit, is overdrawn, etc.
- The refillable pod also features an airflow adjustment wheel that can be turned to customize the airflow, greatly tightening or loosening the MTL draw.
- The device also has nine brand new unique colours: Carbon Black, Pyrrole Scarlet, Gradient, Shading Gray, Cobalt, Green, Ultramarine Blue, Gradient Blue, Matte Gray, and Ocean Flame.
- The G2 is a dual firing device like the Caliburn X and A2, with intelligent draw activated firing where you simply need to puff to automatically activate the pod, as well as a firing button which provides extra control, and allows you to turn the device off for transport.
- It has Pro-FOCS flavour adjustment technology (like the Caliburn X, and others in the series).
- The Caliburn G2 has a slightly lower maximum fixed power output of 18W, compared to the adjustable maximum of 20W for the Caliburn X.
- The Caliburn G2 is sold with two Caliburn G2 0.8Ω & 1.2Ω Pods (CRC), a charging cable, and a user manual.
- Caliburn G2 pods are cross compatible with the Caliburn GK2, but no other devices in the series.
Caliburn A2
Caliburn A2 features:
- This Caliburn A2 product is made from the same type of aluminium alloy (PA, Aluminium Alloy) as the Caliburn G2.
- The Caliburn A2 pod system comes in nine colours: Blue, Grey, Green, Black, Iris Purple, Orange, Gold Black, Artic Silver, and Aqua Blue. You can see them all on the A2 pod kit. page on our store’s website.

- The A2 has a typical LED indicator light, and no screen.
- The side airflow channels are fixed with a restrictive MTL draw, and there are no adjustment methods on the device or pods.
- The 520mAh battery is the smallest of the group and 15W maximum fixed output is also the lowest, but the 1.8mL pod has slightly higher capacity than the G2.
- The A2 is also more lightweight at just 31g, and its size is 110.1mm by 21.3mm by 11.7mm.
- The A2 is sold with two FeCrAl UN2 Meshed-H 0.9Ω pods and a user manual.
- Caliburn A2 pods are cross compatible with the Caliburn AK2 and Caliburn A2S, but no other devices in the series.
Caliburn A2S
Caliburn A2S features:
- The Caliburn A2S is a puff activated only device. Functionally, an A2 without any firing button – preventing any chance of accidentally activating the device in your pocket, or otherwise.
- The A2S is also made with Aluminium Alloy, PCTG.
- The Caliburn A2S has a unique animated light matrix that flashes/flickers when vaping and indicates the battery level.
- The A2S has a 520mAh battery identical to the A2, and introduced a cross compatible 1.8mL pod with a FeCrAl UN2 Meshed-H 1.2Ω coil.
- The device is compatible with the original 0.9Ω Caliburn A2 pods, and has the same output power (15w), size (dimensions), and weight
- You don’t get a charging cable when you buy the A2S, and the device includes a single pod.
- The A2S product has fewer colour varieties than the A2 (six vs nine). The colour options are also regular, with only one unique colour (gradient), but they still come with the signature sleek style and overall great design.
- A2S pods can also be used with the A2 and AK2, but no other devices in the series.
Similarities between the Caliburn X, G2, and A2, A2S
From the above information, we’ve summarised three notable similarities:
1. Material
All the pod systems are made using an Aluminium alloy which offers sleekness and other benefits like a comfortable grip. There are slight differences in the actual composition i.e., PCTG – a highly chemically resistant and durable material (co-polyester) or PA (polyamide). However, the material is generally the same.
2. Flavour adjustment technology – Pro-FOCS
The Caliburn X, G2, A2, and A2S all have the same flavour adjustment technology – Pro-FOCS that brings out the authentic flavour with FeCrAl UN2 Meshed-H coils.
3. Charging
All the pod systems have Type-C fast charging ports.
3. Fill Systems/Built In Coils
All of the CRC models have leak resistant spring loaded fill ports, and coils built into the pods – contrary to what is standardly advertised by the manufacturer on some devices.
Differences between the Caliburn X, G2, and A2, A2S
The pod systems are also different in many other ways. We’ve summarised the main differences for you below and included some recommendations:
1. Battery and e-liquid capacity
The Caliburn X has the highest battery and e-liquid capacity of the four pod systems (i.e., 850 mAH, 3ml), while the Caliburn G2 has a slightly lower battery and almost half the e-liquid capacity (750 mAH and 1.6 ml).
Caliburn A2 and A2S have the same battery (520 mAH), which is considerably smaller compared to these two previous devices but it is still suitable for a typical restricted MTL vaping experience. They also have the same e-liquid capacity, with 1.8 ml being more than enough. So, in this regard, the Caliburn A2 and A2S are the same.
We recommend you go with the Caliburn X if product capacity is of utmost importance to you, given that out of the four products this is clearly the one with the most notable advantage.
2. Indicator light/display
Caliburn X has the most sophisticated indicator (an OLED screen) that displays battery life, voltage, output power, puffs, and coil resistance, while the Caliburn G2 has a typical LED indicator. If you like to have all the available information at hand, then the Caliburn X might be the right choice for you, with its informative OLED screen.
The Caliburn A2S doesn’t have a screen but has an animated light matrix. The Caliburn logo at the bottom of the pod flashes in an animated fashion when you are vaping and informs you of the battery level. The Caliburn A2, on the other hand, also has a typical LED indicator. The main difference between these two products relies on the battery information provided by the A2s animated light matrix, which could help you improve your vaping experience by making sure you always have enough charge.
3. Colours
In regards to colour variety, the Caliburn X offers six unique colours while the Caliburn G2 offers nine. Likewise, the A2 offers nine unique colours, while the A2S offers only six. This will have no impact on your vaping experience, which is why we believe any of these devices could be a great fit for you. However, if you like your vape to express your personality then having a wider colour palette could be best for you, which is why going with a Caliburn X or an A2 could be better.
4. Firing button
The Caliburn A2, Caliburn G2, and Caliburn X are all dual firing devices, with a single firing button that also allows you to turn the device on/off. The multifunctional button on the Caliburn X also enables you to adjust the wattage, and reset the puff counter.
The Caliburn A2S offers a simpler vaping experience, operating exclusively with puff activation and no button – reducing control, but eliminating the chance of accidental activation.
5. Airflow mechanism
The Caliburn X and G2 stand out for having superior airflow control features i.e., a valve and wheel adjustable airflow control, respectively. This offers more control over cloud vapour production.
Caliburn A2 and A2S have regular side holes that can either be covered using your fingers or left open, so the experience with these two devices is pretty much the same.
6. Output power
Pod system wattage is important for dictating vapour production. Higher wattage results in more vapour. The Caliburn X has the highest output power (adjustable, 5-20w). Caliburn G2 has a maximum output of 18w. The Caliburn A2 and A2S have the same output (15w). The 15w is ample power by typical vaping standards. However, if you are keen on optimising vapour production, a higher wattage is better.
7. Weight and size
The Caliburn X is the heaviest at 46g, followed by the G2 at 36g. On the other hand, the A2 and A2S are the lightest of the four pod systems at 31g. The Caliburn X may attribute its extra weight to additional features like an OLED screen and slightly bigger size (width and height).
In terms of size, the Caliburn G2 is the largest one, with 110.5mm by 22.5mm by 13mm, followed by the Caliburn X with 107.4mm by 27.5mm by 15.5mm, although this latter one is slightly wider. The A2 and A2S devices have the same size at 110.1mm by 21.2mm by 11.7, making them the smallest products. Regardless, these devices are all still very portable and easy to carry around with you for an on-the-go vaping experience.
9. Packages
The packages for the pod systems are largely the same, apart from the fact that you don’t get a charging cable with the A2 and A2S. If you already have a type C charging cable, this may not be an issue. Additionally, the Caliburn X is the only pod system that comes with an empty cartridge.
