As we’ve mentioned before, the ePen 3 measures in at 121mm x 26mm x 12mm, making it ideal for stealth vaping and easy everyday carry. That being said, the Vype ePen 3 is slightly taller and thicker than some pod vapes on the market. This shouldn’t discourage users though, because the device is still incredibly portable and will easily slide into a pocket or bag in a discreet way.
Despite its somewhat larger shape and size, the Vype ePen 3 does manage to be quite light and will never feel like a burden to carry. The lightweight nature of the device comes mainly from what the device is made from. The ePen 3 features a full plastic construction, but this isn’t to say it’s not robust or durable. The high-quality plastic should survive the punishment daily use can throw at it, though this isn’t a tank of a device that can be carelessly tossed around.
The pods are also made of plastic and are dark tinted, giving the ePen 3 a distinct style. While the tinted pods do add a sense of style to the ePen 3, they do make it somewhat difficult to see the amount of e-liquid remaining in a pod. If you do want to check the remaining e-liquid you have in your pod, we recommend holding the tinted pod up to a light source.
In terms of ergonomics, the Vype ePen 3 actually stands out from other pod-systems, thanks to its unique curvatures that help it fit very comfortably in the hand. In the Vype ePen 3 box, vapers will find a single ePen 3 battery, two pods, a USB charging cable, and a detailed user manual. All these items are designed to work almost immediately, with the battery coming packed with a decent amount of charge. Depending on the starter kit you end up choosing, the Vype ePen 3 will either come with regular freebase nicotine pods, or the VPro pods which use nicotine salts. To start using the ePen 3, simply remove a pod from the plastic packaging, take the silicone covers off, and push the pod into the opening of the battery. The pod should easily click securely into place, ensuring it doesn’t fall out accidentally on its own. The device itself can be turned on by clicking the button three times, the same button is also used to power the pod when inhaling. A small LED indicator on the ePen 3 will display the battery life on the device, with green indicating a full charge.
When the device is on, clicking the button three times will turn off the ePen 3, which should be done every time the mod is not in use. That being said, the device will automatically turn itself off after 10 minutes of inactivity. This will also happen if the button is held down for over eight seconds.
How’s the Hit?
